Kian's Day 0

Thursday afternoon just after they brought my wife into theater. I sitting alone in patient lounge waiting. Waiting my belove wife to deliver the cesarian baby my baby.

Anyway, after couple of try to call my Father and Mother in law failed. I start wandering around the birthing suite ward and I cought Sarah the midwive around 100 m from me and she wave to me. She signed me that the baby is delivered. I run like i little doggy to my birthing suite and there it is a beautiful creature in front of the room inside the plastics box ( i don't know what it called).

From his eyes I know this is my boy. He looks at me and he seems recognize me somehow. May be coz i havent got shower from the morning LOL.

I follow the other midwive to the East Ward and she let me pick up my boy after she wrap it with towel. I look into his eyes again and I started to cry.

I'm a father.

For Low Latency comms, need to consider:
1. Package Framing protocol aware
2. Time Delay before sending

HP Wireless C4599 - Ubuntu 9.04

I just get the HP Wireless Printer C4599 as the misses asking for network printer.
Anyway, It tooks me almost 1.5 hour to setup the machine. Windows XP driver install also run sluggish.
In short the printer is up and running now and works with Windows.
I install the driver on my wife Vista laptop so she can use it, it works and it is expected. It took less time than when i installed it on my XP.
Two days later (today) and accidently my grub start the Ubuntu. Hmm good time to play as I'm on leave this weeks. My curiosity tickle my brain as i realize that i had not setup the Linux for the new printer.
Googling around and found the this website, http://hplipopensource.com . I try to find my printer but it is not there. 'Dang' I need more time to make this thing work my brain told me. Hmmmm why don't i just try my luck.

I opened up SYSTEM>Printing and Server>New>Printer ....Searching.......... pop NEW PRINTER FOUND woops it found it even before i start to install anything.

Start the test page and it works. Start up XSANE for scaning and it also work. Amazing, I think to know that it is effortless to install this printer in Linux. Well Done HP, I like your printer now even the ink cost is pricey...

I wanted to tell my wife but she already sleep, so i blog it.

Enjoy Tuxiess

Mac vs Vista

“It takes a lot of energy to spin it up,” he said, “but once it gets going, it’s virtually unstoppable.” Mr. Kay, The New York Times.

Well, its gonna be the issue on whether it gonna be spin or not. At the time being, the momentum not only for Apple. As long as the hardware support had not been on apple side, then it still long way to go Mr. Jobs.

K9Copy vs Wine + DVDDecrypter --> Ubuntu

Well, I'm bit of drunk now after consuming more than 2 hours fixing dvddecrypter + wine combo. The early problem of dvddecrypter is it could not recognize the dvd writer on PC. Solution, run "winccfg" and setup the wine as win NT 4.0. After that it works like a charm....yummy.
If you want to 100% MicroSoft free application then try the k9copy from kde. It also work verywell but it did not give too much feature.
Well, Give it a try guys....what i want to say that linuxs and internet like mother and her kids. if you have problem ask your mother.

VMWare Mesh Up

Never ever ever install VMWare Player after VMWare Server installed....
It will ruin your system. VMWare Player cannt work, reinstall, or uninstall. Your VMWare server broken...Thats nice...Hueh

To uninstall the player invoke this command in your command shell to delete failure log file, i guess :P

sudo rm -f /var/lib/dpkg/info/vmware-player.prerm
sudo rm -f /var/lib/dpkg/info/vmware-player.postinst
sudo rm -f /var/lib/dpkg/info/vmware-player.postrm

Then followed by "remove" command

sudo apt-get remove vmware-player

It should be working if its not consult to the reference website i put below.
